Back Pi?

Back Pi?

Is there any installer or do I have to build from the source?
I saw an installer on SourceForge, but after installing I got an error telling me that I didn't have "LOADER.DLL". =/

You are on Windows Vista. Permissions on Windows Vista do not allow modification to the Program Files Directory.

I've been very busy and very behind on projects (My internet sucks bad where I'm at). I hope to update the installer in the coming month.

In the mean time, here are two workarounds:

Workaround 1:
Browse to: C:\Program Files\Defcon1\BPC4
Right-Click -> Properties
Select the "Security" Tab
Click "Edit" (Authorize the UAC prompt)
Select "Users"
Check the "Modify" checkbox
Click Ok
Click Ok

Background Pi should now operate properly.

Workaround 2:
Download BPC4_noinstall.zip from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/backpi/ ... Client/v4/

Extract it to the folder of your choice.

Background Pi should now operate properly.

Unfortunately, I have ceased development on Background Pi and no longer have a working build environment. I have lost interest and proved that using this algorithm is impractical (It is far too slow). I taught me a great deal in its day and hope that it inspires others. While Background Compute collects dust (It will eventually be removed from the site, though I will keep the source available), I plan to make CodingWell my new priority to help others. Until others lose interest I plan to keep Background Pi on the Site. So much to do, so little time.
