Why is Fedora better?

Fedora tends to have more bleeding edge stuff.

Suse or Mandriva is Probably good for beginners. Suse however can get really annoying, really fast after getting some experience because they do things different than most other linux distos so you have to get suse specific help. I also had networking issues with it.
