lightwave calculations... jk
but it would be interesting to build a plugin that would beable to do the calculations over multiple comps for the JMotion 3D data... but it would prolly be deficient.
i liked the MD5 lookup idea(rainbow table).. that would be tight, but other than that... got nothin.

Ya, i was reading up about a method of storing a 3D array that returns multiple "probable" results (like 1,000,000 results). But modern comps can compute around 20,000 hashs per second so it would be a matter of second to find the right one while saving space because you don't have a full list of hashes. still take like 100GB though :(.

Rainbow tables or Prime Numbers. Some University buys prime numbers I hear...

OK, that was weirdly reminiscent of Unknown Armies...

prime numbers: a million and 1 uses!
but... more importantly. new user! post stuff... and stuff.

the boink stuff should all be made compatable, in the long run.
and another cool thing that i thought might be possible was ploting stockmarket trends and projections. that would be sweet.

Prime Numbers. Fun. I wonder how we could make that parallel. Option 1, Each person does 1 number and returns it. The load on the server would be outrageous but I wonder how long before it takes minutes or hours to compute if a number is prime. Eventually we would need to break up each number into smaller pieces.

Wonder how happy people would be if rainbow tables started showing up on Wuala (Any one need invites?)...

I worked on the updater for Background Compute. New look, i really like it. Started commenting code and working on stuff to finish it (The updater). Then i had stuff i had to work on that was more important (It keeps the roof over my head) and haven't had a chance to return to it.

fergofrog: Good to see a new face on the forums. It's kinda rare around here. At first i nearly fell out of my chair.

Side note/Pet Peeve: Why can people NEVER clean ball mice. I sit down at computers and find the cursor does a "magic wall" trick yet no one else who uses the computer has any idea what I'm talking about.

i don't think that the prime number thing would scale very well... i mean it might be ok if like only 30 or so people were doing it... but with 500+ the number that might make one not prime may not be finished calculating... (ok... so maybe not 500+, but it COULD happen). i suppose that would be where verification would be very important...
i think i might be benifical to run the client only on the server for a few days before releasing it cuz otherwise the load would be very too much (for your server... i mean dayum.)

also create a build and post it... i hate the svn crap. or don't ya know... i don't care.
