Serenity (YOU CAN"T TAKE THE SKY FROM ME!)
The Princess Bride (It's not a chick flick, its the most awsome movie ever)
Princess Mononoke (Lets see how long it takes Tim to freak out about it being anime and also not a chick flick)

Oddly though, I just saw Blade Runner for the first time and I didn't like it, which is weird 'cause Harrison Ford killing robots in a an 80's scifi city sound like all kinds of awsome.

ya blade runner is one of those movies you don't watch because harrison ford, or the robot killing. it is about psyci of robots, charactor development and general humanity. it is a really insiteful movie that is good if you look at it from that point of view, otherwise...

Here the weird thing: I know all that stuff, I can like scifi on that level. I went in to it expecting something mind blowingly deep and got the usual "See it's packed with obscure symbolism so it must be deep!" thing filmmakers do when they realize there's actually no plot to the whole thing.
And I'm not really sure what charcter development happend, he quit his job before the start of the movie 'cause he felt bad about killing robots, and he leaves the city at the end of the movie 'cause he feels bad about killing robots. Heck, the most interesting idea in film, that anyone could be a robot and not know it, is never utilized in the movie.
I like deep, but just cause something is deep doesn't make it good.

I've just watched 'Afro Samurai'. It is an anime staring Samuel L. Jackson as the aforementiond afroed samurai on a quest for vengence.
It is quite possibly the most generic show I have yet seen, with a bar terrible rap soundtract and art reminds me of my least favorite Animatrix segment (you know, one with the runner who kept sqeezing those nuts. -snigger-).
It's dub isn't anything to right home about, 'cept for Jackson who only says aboy three things over the course of the episode anyway.

In my oponion, skip it, and watch Samurai Champloo instead (especially the episode 'Baseball Blues', which may be the funiest half hour of anime I've ever seen).

ya i saw it and wanted to stop about half way through.
it is a horrable recreation of samuri shamploo so watch it instead...
i really hated the way the 'ribbons' and similar items moved (or rather didn't)

but i must say that part about the lemonade was fricken halarious.
